Although our figures do not wear it, it was also usual to use the typical machete used on the island of Cuba to cut the sugar cane as part of the individual equipment.
This tool could be used as such to make its way through the jungle, or as a weapon for melee combat.
It is a large broad-blade knife, approximately 40 cm long, sharpened only by one side.
Well used was a formidable weapon both physically and psychologically.
