AFRICA LINE INFANTRY REGIMENT

Creation date: 1559  Country: Spain  Colonel: Francisco Javier Castaños  History: He participated in the Roussillon campaign in 1795. The 1st and 3rd battalions joined the Andalusian army fighting in Bailén on July 19, 1808, in Tudela on November 23, 1808 and in Uclés on January 13, 1809 where they lost half of their troops.  In April 1808 he received his white uniform with black badges from the 1805 regulation.  Strength: They number around 1338 men at full strength. Coat of arms: White background with a black man dressed in a short skirt and feathered cap with a half moon in his right hand and a bow and arrows in his left.
