Compared with the dizzying changes in armament and equipment today, in the early twentieth century, soldiers saw little variation in their basic equipment almost from 1900 to 1950.
The soldier's Lee-Enfield rifle remained in service well into the 1950s and can still be seen today in many conflicts in the Third World.
Its steel hull did not change anything until 1944 and was adopted by the United States Army, until 1942, when it was replaced by the M-1 model.
