On the right side, hanging from his girdle, he carries a revolver, probably Webly.

These types of weapons, also in civilian use, differ when they are in military service, by a small ring in their butt.

This ring serves to hook a cord, attached to the neck of its owner.

In this way if in combat the weapon fell from his hands, it would recover easily, since it would not touch the ground.

It has a similar function to the catcher of the sabers that is attached to the wrist.
