When in the 17th century the Ottoman Empire began to harass the borders and even came to besiege the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Polish and Hungarian hussar units began to be known in Europe.
Little by little, this type of fighter was becoming a site in all European armies.
Each hussar regiment had an elite squadron. The best soldiers of the other squadrons were assigned to this one. His uniform was the same as that of the other comrades with small variations, such as the headwear.
In the French army, the elite squads wore leather colbac instead of chaco or mirlitón previously.
