The black uniforms and the emblem of the skull and the crossbones of the German panzer troops come directly from the Prussian cavalry.
The black hussars and cavalry of Lutzow's Freikorps, as well as the Brunswick cavalry, wore black uniforms.
The use of tanks as light cavalry, converted the German tanks into the new hussars.
The skull with the crossbones of its insignia, is an emblem used by chivalry from around the world and comes to mean that its bearers neither gave nor asked for mercy.
