Oda Nobunaga was a prominent 16th century Japanese daimyō and warlord, known for being one of the unifiers of feudal Japan. Born in 1534 in Owari Province in central Japan, Oda Nobunaga rose to power through a series of military conflicts and strategic alliances.

He is credited with laying the foundation for the unification of Japan under the Tokugawa shogunate, a process that would be completed by his successor, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and finally consolidated by Tokugawa Ieyasu. Nobunaga is remembered for his innovative military tactics, such as the use of firearms and the reorganization of the samurai forces under his command.

In addition to his military skills, Oda Nobunaga was also a social and economic reformer, promoting policies that modernized and centralized the Japanese government. Although his life was abruptly cut short in 1582 during an attempted betrayal by one of his generals, his legacy as a unifier and modernizer of Japan endures to this day as a key figure in the country's history.
