GW 001 French foreign legion 1

Toy soldier depicting a soldier of the French Foreign Legion during the First World War, with the uniform they wore on the Western Front during the battles of the Somme, Ypres, etc.

They differed from regular infantry in that while wearing an identical cut uniform but Bleu Horizon, the legion wore khaki, for the fabrics of their uniforms and the color of the hooves.

In addition it wears a distinctive garment of the French colonial troops, a strip of green color under the girdle, and in the neck in both peaks, a green pomegranate framed in an angle of the same color.
