CT 027 – Black Watch Sergeant – Tel-el-Kebir, Egypt 1882

This figure depicts a sergeant of the Black Watch, the famous Scottish regiment of the British Army, during the 1882 Egyptian campaign and the Battle of Tel-el-Kebir.

The non-commissioned officer is depicted wearing the distinctive red doublet, white crossbelts, Black Watch tartan kilt, gaiters and regulation equipment. His uniform represents one of the most recognisable images of the Highland regiments that served in British imperial campaigns during the 19th century.

The Black Watch, also known as the 42nd Royal Highlanders, played an important role in the Egyptian campaign of 1882. The Battle of Tel-el-Kebir, fought on 13 September 1882, was the decisive engagement of the campaign and resulted in the defeat of Ahmed Urabi's Egyptian forces.

This figure belongs to our Tel-el-Kebir 1882 Collection, dedicated to the British and Egyptian troops who took part in this historic campaign.

An excellent Toy Soldier for collectors of historical military miniatures, the British Army, Scottish regiments, the Black Watch, colonial warfare and 19th-century armies. It can also be combined with the other figures in the collection to recreate British formations and scenes from the Egyptian campaign.

Handcrafted in white metal, at 1/30 scale (60 mm), in our workshop in Spain.
