CT 029 – Black Watch Highlander at Attention – Tel-el-Kebir, 1882
This figure depicts a Black Watch Highlander standing at attention, holding his rifle vertically and ready to receive orders from his commanding officers.
The soldier's firm and disciplined stance reflects the importance of close-order formations in 19th-century infantry warfare. His distinctive red doublet, Black Watch tartan kilt, white crossbelts and campaign helmet immediately identify him as a member of one of the most famous Scottish regiments in the British Army.
The Black Watch, officially known as the 42nd Royal Highlanders, took part in the British campaign in Egypt in 1882 and in the operations that culminated in the decisive Battle of Tel-el-Kebir.
This figure is part of our Tel-el-Kebir 1882 Collection, created to recreate the different troops, uniforms and poses involved in this historic campaign.
An excellent Toy Soldier for building infantry lines and recreating military formations, marching columns and battlefield scenes. An ideal addition for collectors of historical military miniatures, the Black Watch, Highland regiments, the British Army and 19th-century conflicts.
Handcrafted in white metal, at 1/30 scale (60 mm), in our workshop in Spain.
