On 22 August 1485, Richard III faced Henry Tudor at the Battle of Bosworth, the decisive encounter of the Wars of the Roses. The Yorkist king and his supporters displayed heraldic emblems on the battlefield, including the White Boar, Richard's personal badge, the White Rose of York and the Cross of St George. Richard's defeat and death brought the Plantagenet dynasty to an end and ushered in the Tudor era. This TOY SOLDIER recalls the final chapter of medieval England and the dramatic struggle for its crown.
