The regulatory steel helmet delivered to the members of the blue division replaced the German national shield that their Germanic partners wore on the right side of the helmet, with the colors arranged diagonally, by a shield of the same shape and size, but with the colors of the flag of Spain, horizontally. The same happened with the divisions of Croatian and Ukrainian volunteers and also with the exotic units of Hindus and Palestinians that made up the Freiest Indien Legion and the Freiest Arab Legion respectively.
