Handcrafted Roman military equipment set featuring two richly decorated legionary shields, accompanied by helmets and spears. These handmade toy soldiers accessories in 1:30 scale are modelled, cast and hand-painted in our workshop. Perfect for adding historical detail to Roman military camps and miniature dioramas.
During military campaigns, Roman legions established temporary marching camps where soldiers lived in individual tents. Unlike permanent fortifications, these camps did not always have dedicated armouries or storage buildings for military equipment.
Within each contubernium, an eight-man group sharing a tent, military equipment had to remain readily accessible. Shields, helmets, javelins and other weapons were kept outside the tents so that soldiers could quickly arm themselves in the event of an emergency.
This miniature set depicts part of the equipment kept outside a Roman military tent, featuring two decorated Roman legionary shields, together with their helmets and spears. It captures an interesting aspect of everyday military life and helps recreate the atmosphere of a Roman legionary camp with greater historical authenticity.
This Roman toy soldiers accessory set in 1:30 scale is carefully modelled, cast and hand-painted in our workshop in Spain. An excellent addition for collectors of historical miniatures and enthusiasts of the Roman army.
