Collectible toy soldier in 1:30 scale (60 mm), modelled, moulded, cast and hand-painted in our own workshop. Depicting a Gallic chief wearing chainmail armour, a crested helmet and a decorated shield. Made in Spain by Kronprinz Toy Soldiers.
This Gallic chief represents one of the warriors of the ancient Celtic tribes of Western Europe, peoples renowned for their metalworking skills and warrior traditions.
The Gauls were particularly skilled in metalworking and blacksmithing. Celtic craftsmen are traditionally associated with the development and refinement of chainmail armour, made from interlinked metal rings that provided an excellent balance between protection and freedom of movement.
While many European peoples continued to rely on bronze protection or reinforced linen armour, Gallic warriors were already making use of this type of metal armour. Their expertise in manufacturing weapons and protective equipment made them some of the most accomplished craftsmen of the ancient world.
The character wears distinctive chainmail armour, Celtic-style trousers and a helmet topped with an ornamental crest. He carries a decorated oval shield featuring a central boss and colourful geometric patterns.
An evocative historical collectible toy soldier celebrating Gallic military culture and the remarkable craftsmanship of the ancient Celtic peoples.
