The Franks were a group of Germanic peoples who became increasingly important in Western Europe during the final centuries of the Roman Empire. Initially established in the regions east of the Rhine, they were involved in raids, alliances and conflicts with Rome, eventually becoming one of the leading political and military powers of Late Antiquity.

Frankish warriors combined traditional Germanic military practices with elements of Roman equipment, particularly as they came into contact with the military and political structures of the Empire. Their equipment varied according to period, social status and the resources available to each fighter.

This figure depicts a Frankish warrior equipped for battle. He wears chainmail armour over a light-coloured tunic, trousers and footwear. His head is protected by a metal helmet, while a green cloak with reddish edging is draped over his shoulders. His weapons include a long spear and a shield, both common elements of the equipment used by warriors of this period.

The combination of chainmail, helmet and shield reflects the cultural and military interaction between the Germanic peoples and the Roman world during Late Antiquity. The figure represents one of the warriors involved in the transformation of the military landscape of Western Europe following the gradual disappearance of Roman imperial authority in the West.

This HANDCRAFTED TOY SOLDIER is made from white metal alloy, in 1:30 scale, and stands approximately 60 mm tall. It has been sculpted, cast, assembled and hand-painted in our workshop in Spain, with particular attention to the details of the armour, helmet, spear, shield and clothing.

An excellent addition for collectors of Frankish warriors, historical miniatures and armies of Late Antiquity, belonging to our Power of Rome collection.
